MANGO, A PDD BIRD

MANGO, A PDD BIRD   A fund raiser was launched by Bird Paradise on April 4, 2008 to help Mango, a bird who was diagnosed with PDD, along with the other birds at Texas A&M Schubot Exotic Bird Health Center.
Mango is an 8 month old Camelot Macaw who was purchased in Colorado. Within weeks, Mango became very ill. His owner took him to CSU, where he has been diagnosed with the deadly disease, Proventricular Dilation Disease (PDD).

Since CSU does not have a facility to house PDD birds, Mango will live out the rest of his life at Texas A&M in their PDD facility. He will NOT be a research bird. Rather, he will live with other PDD positive birds and be treated as a pet. He will receive daily medication to help sustain his life and keep him comfortable for as long as possible.

Mango, along with the other birds at Texas A&M, deserve to have the best of everything.

WITH YOUR HELP WE HAVE MADE THEIR LIFE MORE ENJOYABLE.

Bird Paradise supports the fight against PDD. We continue in our support and thank you for yours.
